Last weekend saw the official opening of the new hall, the day was a great success.

There were 35 Scouts, Cubs and Beavers there joined by some members of the Guides and Brownies.

The opening was to thank people who had donated money and time towards the construction of the hall (picture above).

Memmbers and guests watched Nick Cross, a past chairman of the building project committee, open the new Paulton Scout and Guide Hall.

We did this in conjunction with the BBC programme, The British Isles.

We found lots of different snails and have taken samples of the forms that our intrepid explorers filled out we have uploaded the results to the BBC Website

Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day.

There will be lots of opportunities to pass on thanks to all of the people who have worked on the hall but we would like to start the ball rolling here so we are saying a

We will soon be handing out details of the District Cub Camp, and the Summer Family Camp (the weather can't be as bad as last year!!!!).

We are planning to hold our AGM at the Family Camp which is going to be held at Chelwood Campsite from 9th - 11th July 2010.

Over the last year our Cubs have taken part in lots of activities.  We held a competition to build the tallest tower out of just paper and staples, and the winning Six managed to get their tower to a height of 5ft 8inches.  This was quite impressive, although the others were only a little way off.

The Beaver Colony had two special visitors, a Harris Hawk and a Peregrin Falcon.  They were well behaved (the birds too), thanks to Roy for bringing them along.

The Beavers also visited the Fire Station in Paulton, they learnt all about the equipment, and had a sit in the fire engine (there were even some blue lights and sirens).

The Pizza making was a great success. They were easy to make and it looked like the Cubs and Beavers really enjoyed them (the Leaders too).

Scouts have completed lots of outdoor activities, and have many camps planned so far this year.
