Welcome.......

Paulton Scout Group is growing!  We have been actively recruiting new members, and have successfully increased our Cub and Beaver sections.

Being part of the 2nd Paulton Scout Group is all about enjoying life to the full, having fun and helping others. If you have a child aged between 6 and 8 years old they can join our Beaver Colony.  If they are aged between 8 and 10 they can join our Cub Pack, and if they are between 10 and 14, they can join our Scout Troop.

Explorer Scouts are young people, aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family. Not all Units meet each week, because they are often out and about at weekends or in the holidays doing activities. There will be times when young people will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout has to fit around these. The nearest Units are based at Midsomer Norton, High Littleton and Saltford. It is hoped to start a new Unit in the Chew Valley area before long. By organising Explorer Scouts on a District basis, many more activities are possible, not just those a single Unit organises.

For information about Explorer Scouting in Wansdyke District, please contact Ian Carter: carts@blueyonder.co.uk

Paulton Scout Group runs a varied programme of activities for each of our sections.

We are currently in the process of building a new Scout, Guide and Community Centre which replaced our previous hall on the site at the top of Plumptre Road.

Lots of work has already been completed and the outstanding tasks are those which we can do ourselves.  If you are able to help with some DIY and can spare a few hours please make contact with Luke Batchelar lukebatchelar@paultonscouts.org.uk  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Scout Group is supported by the Group Executive Committee.

The role of the Committee is to ensure that we run a balanced and appropriate programme of activities, and to organise fundraising events to maintain the Group and to purchase new equipment.

If you can spare a little bit of time - a couple of hours one evening every few months for a meeting, plus a few extra hours to help at events - please speak to one of the leaders.  We have various vacancies within the Group Executive Committee.

New website created - we have been working hard to get this new website up and running, and there is still some work to do.

Some areas of the site are still under construction, so please bear with us.  If you have any questions or would like to see any specific information, please do not hesitate to contact our webmaster ianvalentine@paultonscouts.org.uk.

This section is for parents to get information regarding the program and what their child needs for the forthcoming sessions.

Please remember that we are holding a combined end of term party for both Cubs and Beavers at Chelwood Campsite

There will be lots of fun things to do, we will have a camp fire and hot dogs, we may even do some bread baking.

Weather permitting we will have a water slide too so cubs and beavers should bring some old/change of clothes, parents too should they
fancy a go  :o)

Over the last year our Cubs have taken part in lots of activities.  We held a competition to build the tallest tower out of just paper and staples, and the winning Six managed to get their tower to a height of 5ft 8inches.  This was quite impressive, although the others were only a little way off.

The Beaver Colony had two special visitors, a Harris Hawk and a Peregrin Falcon.  They were well behaved (the birds too), thanks to Roy for bringing them along.

The Beavers also visited the Fire Station in Paulton, they learnt all about the equipment, and had a sit in the fire engine (there were even some blue lights and sirens).

The Pizza making was a great success. They were easy to make and it looked like the Cubs and Beavers really enjoyed them (the Leaders too).

Scouts have completed lots of outdoor activities, and have many camps planned so far this year.

Gift Aid - Help us to maximise our income by declaring your child's Sub Contibution eligible for gift aid.  If you have not signed a recent gift aid declaration, please see your section leader.
